![]() ![]() As in many online, multiplayer games there must exist some rules and code of conduct to maintain civility and reduce as much as possible the ever-present personality clashes that inevitibly occur. In World at War, these rules MUST pertain to ALL players equally - whether Free or Premium. To do otherwise would invite chaos and eventually result in the loss of good players. Unfortunately, it is never possible to predict or clearly define exactly what actions constitute grounds for suspension. I assume the responsibility and retain the right to judge and act based upon that judgement as I see fit. Generally I am pretty lenient on what I allow to be said in chatter, chat, forums and private messages - but there are exceptions to this. You must agree to abide by these rules or accept possible suspension of your account and possible blacklisting of your IP address by World at War with no refunding of Premium account fees if you break these rules.
RULE #1 - No Multiple Accounts. A common method of cheating in any online game like WaW is done by creating more than one account per person. Using this, a player can use one account to "lose" and the other account to "win" continuously thereby gaining points unfairly. Anyone caught using multiple accounts risks having them suspended - regardless of Premium status. Don't do this.
RULE #2 - Secret Alliances Another method of cheating is having pre-organized alliances with other players that are kept secret. By using this ploy, two or more players can eliminate the others in a game knowing that they are safe from attack by each other. This is simply bad sportsmanship. There are options for Team games, and certianly part of World at War is forming alliances in the game, but doing so beforehand in secret leaves the other players at a steep disadvantage going into the game. As bad as this tactic is, however, I will not suspend players who use it. Instead, these people usually end up being pointed out in the Forums and getting put on other players' exclusion lists. Then they cannot join games started by others and eventually are forced to either stop this tactic or go on to other sites.
RULE #3 - Harrassment of Females Female players are a rare commodity. It may be the nature of the game, or simply the fact that females by and large are not terribly interested in these kinds of games. Being an unabashed female chauvinist, you can expect a quick suspension for comments or derision against them from me.
RULE #4 - Harrassment of Others
I list this separately as I have a more relaxed attitude towards harrassment of males. It is commonplace and
to be expected that in a competitive game like WaW there will be some "trash talking" of opponents. There are,
however, extreme cases that merit warnings and/or suspensions. Keep this sort of thing confined to the Flame
Wars forum and not obscene if you want to prevent problems.
RULE #5 - Obscenity I will not tolerate obscenity, especially in the Forums and Chatter where messages may be stored for extended periods. Obscenity in chat is harder to catch since the messages are short-lived and screen-shots and captured text can be easily forged. Note that you may add a user to your ignore list which will prevent you from seeing any chat, Forum or Private messages from that user. You're certainly welcome to complain to me via Private Message or Complaints Forum as well. Also, the software supports uploading of graphics files to personalize your account. I personally must approve these graphics before they will be visible to any other user however. Obviously obscene or pornographic images will not be accepted. |
